Before joining Waterford Kamhlaba, Jackie served as Head of IB Programmes at Mpesa Foundation Academy in Kenya. In this role, she led the successful establishment of three International Baccalaureate programmes in under two years. This work reflected strong operational leadership and clear strategic focus.
Jackie holds a Master of Education in Advanced Teaching, a Master of Science in Communication Studies, and a Bachelor of Education in English and Literature. These qualifications reflect a balance of academic depth and applied leadership practice.
Her leadership philosophy prioritizes learner agency, authentic learning, and inclusive innovation. She focuses on empowering students and educators through inquiry based approaches which strengthen critical thinking, collaboration, and social justice.
Under her leadership, Waterford Kamhlaba UWCSA is pursuing an ambitious strategic direction. This includes a clear commitment to sustainability and a target of carbon neutrality by 2030. She promotes constructivist pedagogy, diversity, equity, and service as core pillars of school culture.
Jackie places strong emphasis on relational trust across students, staff, and the wider community. Her influence extends beyond the school, where she is widely recognized for connecting institutional excellence with community focused and justice oriented education.
Her work reflects disciplined execution, long term strategic vision, and a deep commitment to shared humanity. This combination positions her as a key leader shaping the next generation of UWC education.

Lisa believes in the transformative power of education, and that structured access to disciplinary and experiential knowledge allows young people to change their circumstances and the circumstances of others. She enjoys engaging with frameworks to harness the transformative power of education; whether those frameworks are embedded in curricula, the systems and processes used to support teaching and learning or in the theoretical frameworks that can be used to structure learning experiences. Lisa also teaches Theory of Knowledge and participates in the school's Community Service programme, visiting the Government Hospital with a group of IB1 students each week.
As a student at WK and in her early years of teaching, Lisa was a keen runner, hockey and basketball player frequenting WK's courts; she now enjoys long distance running and working out at the campus gym each week. Lisa is married to Phumani and has two children, George and Eilidh.

With a decade of experience in education, pastoral care, and youth development, Nicole bridges strategic vision with practical implementation. She currently leads initiatives that strengthen student culture, safeguarding systems, and the overall student experience through evidence-based practice, reflective programming, and trauma-informed approaches. As a teacher, mentor, and systems thinker, Nicole designs and implements frameworks that nurture belonging, accountability, and purpose. Her work in pastoral leadership focuses on integrating wellbeing, discipline, student governance, and co-curricular engagement into cohesive developmental journeys that support both individual growth and community harmony.
Nicole holds a Master of Management in Public & Development Monitoring and Evaluation from the University of the Witwatersrand, where her dissertation explored the development of autodidactic capacities in youth through extracurricular learning. She also holds a Senior Practitioner Diploma in Boarding Practice Leadership (Boarding Schools’ Association, UK), a BSocSci (Hons) in Industrial Sociology & Labour Studies (University of Pretoria), and a Certificate in Industrial Psychology from the Institute of Personnel Management of Zimbabwe. She is currently pursuing a Diploma in Trauma-Informed Practice through Trauma Informed Schools UK.
Guided by the values of integrity, empathy, accountability, and service, Nicole’s leadership is characterized by intentionality and care. She continues to inspire both students and educators to engage with curiosity, discipline, and compassion, believing deeply in the transformative power of education to shape futures and communities.

His portfolio encompasses recruiting all students to the school and then supporting them on their pathways after graduation. He still teaches one class of Geography, is a residential tutor and community service supervisor for the Careers Support Initiative, which organises the annual, nationwide Eswatini Careers Fair. Having once been an avid footballer and cricketer he now prefers the more sedate and relaxing sports of golf and swimming. He is married to Nosipho and has 2 teenage children, Joel and Hannah.

THE PARENTS AND STAFF ASSOCIATION OF WATERFORD KAMHLABA
The Parent and Staff Association (PSA), is governed by the Constitution of the PSA and comprises of all parents having students at Waterford-Kamhlaba United World College of Southern Africa. The term “parents” includes natural or legal guardians, foster parents or step-parents of students at the College. These are referred to as ‘Parent Members’. The Principal and permanent members of staff of the school, referred to as ‘Staff Members’ also form part of the PSA. The PSA committee has at least 7 members, one of which is a staff member. The PSA meets on the first Tuesday of the month during term time at the Advancement Office at 6pm. A detailed copy of the PSA Constitution can be made available on request to the Chairperson.
Objective
- To act as a supporting and advisory body to the Principal and the College
- To foster communication between the College and the parents.
- To raise funds and encourage sponsorship for the College and its various projects to support students and staff to enhance their learning and school experience, and
- To uphold the UWC core values
The PSA has a number of sub-committees, comprising of PSA representatives and management /staff members, who are actively involved to ensure continued school support and overall wellness of all at WK. The committees are:
LINK FAMILIES: To foster a home-away-from-home environment for students by pairing them with local families. Successfully running for many years and led to life-long bonds even beyond time at WK and international borders.
EVENTS: To fundraise and support the school events that need PSA funding such as Annual Golf Day, Kamhlaba Day and the Biannual 24 Hour run.
FOOD: To evaluate and guide nutritional value of meals served including Tuck Shop. The menu now includes healthier options.
PARENTS LINK NETWORK: Aim is to connect parents from outside Eswatini with parents within the country.
MENTAL TASK TEAM: to be run inconjunction with the Governing Council
KAMHLABA PARENTS SERIES: A talk series covering a wide range of comfortable and uncomfortable topics. Held via zoom so can include all parents. Held generally on the first Thursday of each month during term time.
SMALL PROJECTS: To evaluate and co-ordinate requests annual projects, including funding gifts for teachers and support staff, pre-orientation program for non-English speaking students and Help Fund (starter packs).
AD-HOC PROJECTS: To co-ordinate and implement ad hoc projects which support the students, teachers and school.
The PSA derives its funding from fundraising events to support the numerous requests for funding on various school projects. The main fundraising event is the annual PSA Golf Day normally held in October.

Student Representative Council
The Student Representative Council (SRC) is the highest level of student governance within the school. Their duties include organising school events, reporting student grievances to the school executive and providing a medium of communication between students and staff.
