Latest Stories - Shelby & Gale Davis on Waterford Campus!
On Sunday 7th October
2018 Shelby and Gale Davis, two long-standing and passionate friends of the UWC
movement, arrived on Waterford campus on a special visit.
Present to welcome the Davises
were members of the school governing council and central management group.
Swazi students also welcomed them with a traditional Swazi dance. On Monday 8th
October Shelby Davis addressed the Waterford assembly. He made a great speech,
emphasizing on the importance of giving back to society. “My father told me
that during the first 30 years of your life you should learn, in the next 30
years you earn, and then use the remaining years to give back to society. You learn, earn and return,” he said.
After assembly they went to see a
Waterford community service site, together with a group of IB1 students. The
visitors spent the day interacting with students, staff, parents and alumni. The
school Principal Stephen Lowry said the visit gives Waterford an opportunity to
thank Mr Shelby Davis for his support to Waterford and the entire UWC movement.
