Latest Stories - Hundreds Attend 11th Careers Fair
On Wednesday 25th July
2018 hundreds of students from over 40 schools around Eswatini participated in
the 11th Annual Careers Fair.
The event was held at Mavuso
Trade and Exhibition Centre. About ninety delegates participated including the
African Leadership University in Mauritius, University of Pretoria and
University of Johannesburg from South Africa as well as UNISWA, SCOT and
Limkokwing from Eswatini. They were joined by many other tertiary institutions
and employers representing nearly every profession you can imagine from music
to medicine, finance to forestry and design to diplomacy. In addition, there
were parallel activities including motivational speaking, a chess challenge and
health education.
Speaking during the event, Waterford’s
Director of Admissions and University Adviser John Storer thanked the students,
organizations and other individuals who made the event a huge success. “It
really feels good to see how the event has grown over the years. We are excited
to engage with hundreds of young Swazis as they contemplate their futures,” he
said.
The Careers Fair is a community
service venture organized by Waterford’s IB2 Career Support Initiative
students.
