Latest Stories - Glam Trash Fashion Bash
On Sunday 22nd July 2018, a group of Waterford
students held the Glam Trash Fashion Bash, an annual fashion show that promotes
environmental awareness through the creation of fashion out of recyclable
material.
The show started at 7pm and had 8 fashion collections along
with a total of 30 diverse looks inspired by the theme of the night: beat
plastic pollution.
Judges Tanele Mnisi, the creative director of Touch of Soul,
and Malebomvu Ginindza, the founder of the Malebomvu Foundation,
awarded three student winners of the night. The winners were Leah Gaspari (Glam
Model), Lisa Ramsamy (Glam Collection) and Tumi Neill (Glam Look). All the
winners received handmade trophies. Lisa Ramsamy’s Glam Collection received a
large gold trophy that will be passed on to next year’s winner.
The night was filled with fashion, music and dance. The money raised from the selling of tickets, which were available on campus for E10, went towards two of Waterford’s community service groups: Sobhiyoso preschool and Plant a Tree Foundation.
