Latest Stories - Waterford Stokvel Celebrates First Anniversary

Swaziland based Waterford alumni who are part of the Waterford Stokvel gathered at the Mbabane Theatre club to celebrate the Stokvel’s first anniversary.

They unveiled a logo, co-designed by Waterford Kamhlaba UWCSA alumnus Paluku ('17) and professional graphic designer ,Tsepho. The trustees and members thank both of them for the wonderful logo!

They also met the IB1 student who has been awarded the Waterford Stokvel Scholarship. The young woman who was awarded the scholarship was selected as the recipient due to her academic merit, amazing potential and of course the well-rounded nature of her profile. She thanked everyone for supporting her.

Finally the Stokvel members discussed great ideas around improving the fund which supports a Swazi student to get a UWC education. They made pledges and it was explained that after making a pledge, a person can pay at his or her own pace, as long as it is within the course of the year. Chairperson of the Stokvel, Thandile Nxumalo (Swaziland, WK 80-84) thanked everyone for contributing to the success of the fund.
