Latest Stories - Waterford Celebrates UWC Day
On Saturday 17 April 2021
Waterford Kamhlaba celebrated UWC Day – a day that is about celebration of the
diversity of cultures and nationalities represented in the UWC colleges.
During UWC day, students, staff,
parents and the broader Waterford Kamhlaba family show a little bit of what
their “home” is like to the rest of the school. It features a parade of nations
where students represent their own countries in their traditional attires and
greet the rest of the school in their home language. Student led food stalls
present food from around the world.
The 2021 UWC Day was different because
of the Covid-19 pandemic. Other members of the Waterford community such as
parents and alumni did not participate; the Parade of Nations and other performances
were physically-distant.
