The 2019 UWC Africa Week lived true to its theme: Young Africa: Educated. Empowered. Unleashed. 

Towards the end of the week, there were exciting events such as the Africa Week Assembly, Panel Forums, Keynote speech and Visual Arts Exhibition which gave an opportunity for participants, especially the Waterford students to engage and discuss about how Africa’s Youth can navigate modern global challenges, as well as explore importance and significance of emerging African businesses and innovators in today’s global society. Reflecting on this year's event, Head of UWC Africa Week, Lindani Khoza (IB2) said, "This year we were looking into the social, economic, and political dynamics of Africa’s emerging youth demographic within the context of a globalising world, and we explored the newfound tensions that have come to face Africa’s youth."
