Latest Stories - Resignation Announcement

At today's staff briefing, the Chair
of Governing Council of Waterford Kamhlaba UWC Southern Africa, Mark Mills,
announced the resignation of Principal Stephen Lowry, who has indicated that he
is ready to take on a new challenge, and will leave Waterford Kamhlaba at the
end of December 2020 after more than seven years of dedicated service to the
school.
“Although there will be plenty of time for thank you and goodbyes, we would like to thank Stephen for his absolute commitment and positive contribution to Waterford. Through his leadership, the campus has metamorphized into wonderful open spaces, teaching areas and sporting facilities, work that now continues into the residential areas. In addition, Stephen has greatly strengthened the operational side of Waterford and has been a strong supporter of the school's CAS programme and the expansion of learning outside of the classroom.”
Dr. Mills advised that
the Governors will immediately begin a process to find Mr. Lowry’s
successor.
“By giving us ample notice, Stephen has allowed us to launch a rigorous
search for a new principal. It is important to Stephen and the Council that
there is a smooth transition to the new leadership. The Governing Council will straight away start a process to find a
suitable replacement.”
