PSA Golf Day

The Parent Staff Association (PSA) of Waterford Kamhlaba United World College of Southern Africa (WK UWCSA) held a successful golf day event at Nkonyeni Golf Estate last Sunday. The event, sponsored by Capitol Caterers, was an amazing experience for golfers who enthusiastically moved from hole to hole. The beautiful golf estate, overlooking the Ngwempisi River, provided a great opportunity to mingle and network. Speaking during the event, WK UWCSA Principal Stephen Lowry said that the funds raised at the golf day would be used to improve the experience of the WK community, in particular its students. “We would like to thank our sponsors as well as the team that organised the event.” He mentioned that Waterford continues to make an impact in the Swazi society. “We believe that everyone sees the impact we are making. Waterford Kamhlaba provides international education that is of uncompromising quality”.

Students Representative Council president, Karanja Karabiu, spoke about the students’ experience at the College and the support that they get from parents, staff, sponsors, alumni and everyone involved in the work of improving the school. The SRC president, who is fresh from attending the UWC congress in Italy, mentioned that Waterford Kamhlaba is a unique school. “Coming to golf, it was a tough game but it was a great experience, and we had fun,” he concluded.

The day ended with the presentation of prizes. The best team for the day was Mbabane Clinic with a net score of 104. Waterford Kamhlaba staff came second with a net score of 103 while Stephan Young and his friends as well as the “Random 4” came third with a net score of 102 for both.
