Situated on a mountainside overlooking the city of Mbabane, the capital of the Kingdom of Swaziland, Waterford Kamhlaba is a United World College whose primary identity and purpose comes from its location in Southern Africa. It has a worldwide reputation for academic excellence and for producing well-rounded students committed to making a difference. Former South African president Nelson Mandela and Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu’s children and grandchildren were educated at Waterford.
Waterford Kamhlaba’s 597 students represent more than 50 nationalities and a wide diversity of socio-economic backgrounds. Many of the students are only able to attend because of scholarship and bursary support.
Students at Waterford Kamhlaba are prepared for the Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education(IGCSE) and the International Baccalaureate Diploma.
