Music
Outside of the music curriculum, there are many ways to get creative with music. Opportunities are there for al kinds of musicians. Lots of IB students take advantage of the opportunities in the department to develop their CAS profile.
There are individual lessons available on a range of instruments - currently:
- Guitar
- Bass Guitar
- Piano
- Drums
- Flute
- Clarinet
- Saxophone
This year, around 140 students are having music lessons.
There are various ensembles, bands, choirs and groups for people to join. Currently available are:
- Marimba Groups
- Jazz Band
- Umbholoho
- School Choir
- A Classical Ensemble and
- lots of informal groups
There are Music IT Department opportunities too. There are regular workshops that will train people to use the hardware and software then they are able to access the studio unsupervised. The Music studio has 5 fantastic workstations running Cubase, Reason and Sibelius 4.
