IB 1 Community Service
An important part of attaining the IB Diploma is the Creativity, Action and Service programme (CAS). A minimum documented number of hours must be spent in the CAS programme in order to receive the diploma. There are various positive things that students gain from this CAS programme hence IB students are required to do community service. The academic timetable for IB students is designed to avail time for students to be involved in at least one community service project. The allocated time for community service for IB1 students at Waterford Kamhlaba is Wednesday after break. Some community service projects take place in the evnings and on weekends.This year the IB 1 students are involved in at lease one of the following community service projects:
- AIDS Education
- Baylor Clinic

- Drama with Primary School
- Ekwetsembeni Sports
- Environmental Management
- HIV/AIDS Education
- John Wesley Reading
- Msunduza Reading
- Music at Sebenta Group
- SAWS
- SOS Maths
- SOS Reading
- St Joseph's Mission***Weekend Community Service
- TB Education
- VRC Literacy
- Video Project
- Ward 8
