Enchanting. Extra-ordinary. Electrifying. The essence of the Waterford experience is hardly described by these words.
Passing through Waterford is one journey that makes an indelible impact on our lives. The Waterford experience comes at the apex of our lives, when our energy and enthusiasm for life is at its peak. It comes when our minds are their sharpest, when our emotions are surging within us like never before. From the moment we enter those iron gates, we have expectations the size of the Grand Canyon, we have genuine needs to be met, and whether we like it or not, prejudices and misconceptions to be purged or corrected.
The Waterford Kamhlaba SRC is part of this awesome package. It provides a platform for self-discovery through its initiatives, an opportunity for leadership for the aspiring politician, boardroom member or event planner and contributes to the opening of people's eyes through the removal of our spectacles formed by cultural prejudices.
The SRC is an anvil that moulds better people out of Waterford students. It creates an environment conducive for the exploration of the academic specialist, the sporting star and the caring philanthropist. It supports ingenious thinking and raises eyebrows that would have otherwise rested and blurred the inquisitive vision of the potential genius. It makes a real world out of the UWC perched on the top of a mountain, making sure that all the souls on that land overflowing with cultural diversity, economic diversity and character diversity interact and wonderfully blend their differences to form one huge, awe-inspiring masterpiece.
With great entertainment that features professional DJs who are WK students, great events where we learn and experience other cultures, a great educational environment and many more greats, the Waterford experience is a thrilling ride. A place where students are well represented by their SRC. A place where the student's rights are protected by a dedicated SRC. A place where the SRC makes things happen for the 500 students for which it exists.
